Senators Alumni Game held raising $4000 for a new defibulator for Rogers House in Ottawa January - Raffle held for an Alfredsson jersey and Ottawa/Boston game tickets to raise funds for new dressing rooms and ref room. A total of $2320 was raised May - Held the second annual Beachburg Jam, raising $4000 for the arena Office moved closer to the rink with a window installed for better visibility - sponsored by Bill Smith Carpentry in Pembroke July - Held the Canadian Air Rifle Competition inside the arena, with thanks to Barry Nieuwenhuis August - Wedding held inside arena, finished painting inside arena, started ice plant September - Ottawa Valley Titans booked 23 hours of ice time, Valley Aces booked 10 hours of ice tiime. It was well worth starting the ice plant early! September - Rob and Cameron Wishart donated their time to build a new penalty box. Eric and Lorna Stephenson sponsored this work in the amount of $5000 September - New score clock donated and installed by John Vereyken of Vereyken Homes and Robert Regier of Renfrew Agrisystems September - New fundraiser with 10 NHL Jerseys. Jersey boxes built by Jim Crouse and lined by Gilles Potvin at no charge October - New CD player and speakers for the penalty box, and a new system for inside the lobby area donated by Jim's Home Furniture in Pembroke December - Bulls got 7 new sets of jerseys for novice team. Sponsors include 1 set from Pizza Pizza, 1 set from Play it Again Sports, 1 set from Beachwest Pharmacy, 1 set from Gourlay Perfomance Products, 1 set from Scotiabank, 6 shirts from Ralph Roloff, 9 shirts from Jamieson Travel, 4 shirts from Turbo Graphics, 3 shirts from Whitewater Garage, 6 shirts from Bob Hackett Janitorial and 6 shirts from Whitewater Cycle. Outdoor rink under coverall sponsored by ATC Panels (fibre board), Home Depot (100 2x4's), Rob Belaire (17 2x6's) and NJL Enterprises (60x100' plastic sheets for ground and 6 pieces of puck board) Installed new dehumidifier at the back of the arena to reduce condensation
January - Obtained new fax machine, copier and computer system for the office. March - 2nd Annual Beachburg Recreational Hockey Tournament, March 6, 7 & 8 - very positive outcome raising $7850 for the arena March - Defibrulator installed in the arena March - 2008/09 jersey raffle held - profit of $3000 raised
May - Started new jersey raffle for 2009 / 2010 season August - Painted bleachers red and yellow, repaired zamboni and built new box on zamboni August - Moved blue lines out 4 feet shrinking the center zone from 49 to 41 feet August - purchased 7 new sets of Bulls jerseys Ice plant turned on August 31st, frst ice September 8th September - First ice with Titans and Valley Aces as primary renters for September September - Installed new fuse panel in electric room September - purchased one new set of Bulls jerseys for midget team sponsored by NRTC Communications September - Started new Jersey raffle
February - 3rd Annual Beachburg Recreational Tournament held in Beachburg and Westmeath for the first time. The event was a huge success wth 32 teams taking part. $8000 was raised for Beachburg, $3000 was raised for Westmeath. May - Hosted the 4th Annual Beachburg Jam, raising $6000 for the arena June - Ron Lowe informed us that there was property on grounds available to expand arena. July - Built locker area behind bleachers, closed off both ends of bleachers so no spectators could walk behind, insulated and put new steel inside on four sections of the wall - sponsored by Home Depot and their building team. August - Put in new players benches built by Hugh Martin and Gilles Potvin. Special thanks to Tom Lammi August - Sent Olympia Ice Machine to Almira for $7000 in repairs August - new doors on outside of plant room costing $1300 August - started advertising on the arena boards with successful results Ice plant turned on August 23rd, first ice August 30th. First ice for the Rick Heinz Hockey School from Kitchener. September - Purchased new laptop for advertising, started new jersey raffle December - Skate sharpener donated to the arena by Terry Wasmund December - Hockey tournament for new rubber flooring in heated area raising $1800. Special thanks to Allan Kosowan for installing the new flooring
February - 4th Annual Hockey Tournament for the Beachburg Recreation Association. A total of 30 teams participated including 8 open men's teams, 12 recreational men's teams and 10 women's teams. Aviation played for spectators at the Westmeath arena and Upstream Dave entertained in Beachburg. The division champs were Valley Waterworks in the Recreational Division, Shawn Tanguay's Crew in the Open Division and Barry's Bay Chicks with Sticks in the Women's Division. Installed new electric heaters in heated area. March - Last ice for the season, Jersey Raffle held
May - Repainted lobby and dressing room areas fire red, white and black May - 5th Annual Beachburg Jam - raised $4000 June - Purchased used condensor for plant from the RA Center in Ottawa for $4500 July - Installed tables and benches in lobby area thanks to McDonalds Restaurant in Pembroke August - Installed new pipes from chiller to brine pump in compressor room for $7000 August - Held first Roller Derby in Renfrew County with great success August - Installed cold air returns to dressing rooms 3 and 4 and the main hallway September - Replaced fuse panel in front of arena and bought used battery edger from Resurfice to lower emissions in arena at a cost of $3000.
